Concetta E Volpe is known for the illustrious colors on her palette. Her paintings are commissioned by private collectors and are displayed in homes and offices throughout the United States.
Her portrait artwork has also been published on t-shirts, sold in music stores and worn by Chris Robinson lead singer of "The Black Crowes" rock band.
Concetta studied through her sophomore year at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and received her BFA in painting and drawing from Suny Purchase. More of her formal studies are with John Phillip Osborne
Concetta is an avid "en plein air" painter where she believes in capturing the atmospheric light and true colors of nature. She also enjoys portraits and is appreciated for both her technical skill at capturing the outward likeness of her subjects, as well as for the sensitive and insightful portrayal of their characters and personalities.
Although, her career started with portraits and fashion designs, her travels have developed her interest in landscapes created in multi mediums. She often prepares her own linen using the old master technique of rabbit skin glue to size the linen and seal it with a white oil ground.
She has won many awards for her paintings including "Best in Show" for the Art Society of Old Greenwich 2012 Juried show theme “Scapes Galore,” and she also has won four 1st place awards for her landscapes.
