The Coco-Pallet: An Eco-Friendly Alternative

Coco Pallets have many vital advantages over traditional wooden pallets, given that these are lighter and stronger in form, more sustainable, and even reusable. Coco-Pallets even come with an adjusted design and are naturally fireproof in form. This pallet type comes with a design that can be stacked very easily and consume much less space. These are cheaper in costs, and the lower price tag makes them much better than their wooden competitor that usually gets a one-time use and then is thrown away.

Wood-Free

Coco-pallets happen to be a biodegradable low-cost, and sustainable alternative to regular export pallets is entirely free of wood. It is composed of coconut waste. When 'Go Green' campaigns are making a lot of noise, and more and more countries and governments are stressing the need while actively seeking new innovative wood-free alternatives. Every year, as many as 5 billion timber pallets are created, this leads to vast deforestation and the cutting down of 500 million trees annually. Most of these trees are cut in nations like New Zealand and Canada, given that there is an insufficient number of timbers in the Southeast Asian countries.

Today as many as 7.4 billion coconuts are annually harvested across the globe. About 85% of the unnecessary hairy husk from coconuts is piled up, causing vast bio-hazards and are tossed into the ocean or burned.  Coconut husk and other coconut waste are now being directly purchased from coconut farmers; this is great and supports local communities around the world and is also paving the way for a new regional transport infrastructure.

Resistant to Termites and Moisture

Resistant to Termites and Moisture

This type of alternative wood is termite and moisture resistant, which makes it a vital factor for use in tropical areas. The Coco-Pallet has already won several innovation and entrepreneurial awards, and it now has its own factory located in Indonesia. Coco-Pallets are a perfect solution and will help save millions of trees and ensure recycling with something that is usually nothing more than a waste product.

Coco-Pallet exports are carried out near the Coco Husk source, supporting additional income for local farmers. These are sustainable products composed of raw materials that would get wasted otherwise. Unlike wood, this is an insect-free product. It does not use any Methyl-Bromide fumigation and other expensive and harmful pest-treatments.

Coco-Pallet’s Are A Sustainability Solution That Tackles

  • Environmental Pollution: 85% of 73 billion coconut husks are landfilled. or burned every year;
  • Deforestation: 170 million trees are cut down annually to produce 1.7 billion one-time use wooden pallets; and
  • Farmer Poverty: the majority of smallholder coconut farmers currently live below the poverty line due to shrinking annual income.

Cost Savings

Coco-Pallet pallets are export-compliant in form. These are ISPM15 compliant, and you can find them being used for the transportation of pharma and food products. When coconut husks are repurposed, this provides coconut farmers with an extra revenue stream. As compared to wooden pallets, these coconut pallets do not have any synthetic binding agents. Instead, these make good use of the all-natural binders that are there within the coconut fibers. Also, these do not need any nails, which means that Coco-Pallets are entirely biodegradable when they reach the end of their lifespan. Today manufacturers are exploring how additional value can be created from these crates. After usage, pallets can be transformed into soil or other natural improvement items. These pallets are able to bear as much as 300 kg in weight and need 70% less space for storage.

Reduces Carbon Footprint

Coco-Pallet can save millions of trees each year and reduce the carbon footprint heavily while saving expenses for buyers and paying farmers for what would normally be considered wastes. The Coco-Pallet uses a process that happens to be lower in cost than the use of wood. The design is longer-lasting and is more practical in form. The company has been estimated to be able to save as many as about 200 million trees annually!
